Dopamine dressing at its finest and a beautiful treat to myself.

I am not much of a jewellery girl, rings don't suit my stubby fingers and necklaces don't flatter my short neck, but the one thing I can wear is earrings. So when I came across the Contemporanea stall at the Martinborough fair I was in earring heaven. All the earrings were beautiful, truly unique and had a great story behind them, whether being made from recycled materials, coming from an exotic locale or from a small studio wahine craftsperson. It was a difficult choice, in the end I settled on this pair of bright pink earrings made from leather. They are easy to wear being super light weight, and the fabulous colours always bring a smile to my face whenever I am having a grey day. Feeling magical and iridescent

What drew you to this piece?
Like a bee to a blossom, the colours and contours of the jewellery drew me in. But even deeper, the resonance of the intention at the heart of this business - to share, celebrate and support artists and craftspeople. 

How do you feel when wearing it?
I feel magical and iridescent. They are big energy earrings but are so light to wear and very comfortable.

Do you wear it daily or for special occasions?
I am a “everyday is a cause for celebration” kind of person.

"When I saw some earrings on Dani’s Contemporanea Facebook story, they caught my eye. Sparkling bright gold, with a bit of ‘razzle dazzle’, I knew they would be perfect for wearing while performing with my band, the ‘Hoot ‘n’ Annie’s’. "When I saw my friend Dani was curating a jewellery collection of handmade ethical jewellery made by women artists, I was very excited to support her and the independent artists around the world who she caringly selected by their ethos and aesthetics.
I chose my earrings based on the style and colours, I loved the feather style, made out of leather and handpainted wood, I knew that wearing them would add a sense of funky inspiration to my mood and enhance my self-confidence and creativity.
I bought 2 colour ways, one for daily wear and one which matches my dance performance outfits. The daily earrings have sparkly silver and blues, which keep my mood calm and fluid with a little bit of spark, and the dance earrings are bright red with multi-coloured accents. The red enhances my energy and makes me feel fiery, expansive and connective.
