True Winter (It's Not About the Colour)

No, I'm not talking about the colour palette. I'm talking about a feeling. I've been feeling that winter and hibernation would hit me at some point.

And it's just happening. Just when the new moon phased us, my partner took off for Spain to visit family for three weeks. Three weeks of solo parenting, that's what winter looks like for me right now.

But winter is also showing me the warmest of days, the days without time or timing. Nowhere to be this first week, while we adjust.

Interestingly, it's also giving me time to breathe. To slow down. To look after my energy. To study. Among the things I've been meaning to catch up on are two online courses, photo editing and a fortnightly singing practice.

If you're hibernating too, and finding it easier to stay inside than to go out, I hear you! All my in-person offerings are on hold until September (stay tuned).

While I tend to this winter energy, I've noticed that writing has become a more regular practice. A practice of presence. I've also noticed I reflect a lot more when I'm indoors than out and about. The beauty of the seasons.

At Contemporanea there's no such thing as a review section underneath each piece, nor a star rating system.
