I'm Dani (Daniela), the founder and curator of Contemporanea.

Jewellery, art, and craftsmanship have always been part of my life. Originally from Chile, I studied Fine Arts, trained in jewellery making, and worked for years promoting traditional handicrafts—learning firsthand the deep value of handmade objects and their makers.

After moving overseas and stepping away from metal and clay for a while, motherhood reignited my creative spark. A trip to Spain brought fresh inspiration—seeing incredible women creating, mastering their craft, and embracing their artistry. I knew I wanted to share that energy.

That’s how Contemporanea was born: a platform celebrating contemporary jewellery handcrafted by talented female artists from around the world. A space for bold statement pieces, wearable art, and everyday treasures.

Aotearoa is just the beginning—who knows where this journey will take us?
